Privacy Policy

How Camtool handles tool inputs, routine request data, advertising cookies, and support messages.

Content entered into tools

Camtool does not provide user accounts. Timer settings, participant names, drafts, citation details, grades, and image files are processed in your browser and are not stored in a Camtool application database.

Inputs may disappear when you refresh or close the page. Avoid entering sensitive personal information, confidential research, or anything that should not appear on a shared screen.

Routine information processed when the site loads

The hosting provider may temporarily process routine request data such as IP address, request time, requested path, and browser type to deliver the site, diagnose failures, and defend against malicious traffic.

Camtool does not currently use a dedicated visit analytics or behavioral tracking tool and does not build member profiles or visitor-level behavioral histories in its own database.

If aggregate visit statistics are introduced later, the scope will be limited to the minimum information needed for service improvement, such as page path, access time, referrer, and device or browser type. Participant names, assignment drafts, grades, citation form entries, image file names, and file contents will not be included in analytics. Before activation, this policy will be updated with the actual fields, purpose, retention period, and opt-out method.

Google advertising and cookies

When advertising is enabled, Google and advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, limit frequency, and prevent abuse. You can learn about these technologies and control personalized ads through Google's resources.

Consent, retention, and questions

Where required by law, a consent message may appear before advertising or non-essential cookies are used. The message will explain how to refuse or withdraw consent.

Camtool does not directly retain account information. No dedicated privacy inquiry channel is currently operated; when one is ready, it will be announced in this policy and on the Contact page. Do not post personal or sensitive material in a public repository or external forum.
